London South Bank University is evolving. Our seven Schools create a flexible and dynamic environment to support students, develop the academic programme and engage with industry through, School of Applied Science, School of Arts and Creative Industries, School of the Built Environment and Architecture, School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Health and Social Care and School of Law and Social Sciences.
Established as the Borough Polytechnic Institute in 1892, the original aim of London South Bank University (LSBU) was 'to promote the industrial skill, general knowledge, health and well-being of young men and women', which remains remarkably similar today. Our continuous focus on vocational education and professional opportunity allows us to produce graduates who can meet the challenges of today's workplace.
Across our faculties we have stunning practical areas specially designed to create scenarios students find in the workplace. Some highlights include purpose-built classrooms for ICT, maths, research, PE and dance students on our Education courses. Our health students use a new suite of sophisticated skills laboratories, with life-like hospital wards, simulated patients and a radiography-testing suite with the latest 3-D imaging. All our courses give details of the facilities they access.
