The University of Bath received its Royal Charter in 1966 and is now firmly established as a top ten UK university with a reputation for research and teaching excellence. Our campus, overlooking the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, has a vibrant research culture driven by the enthusiasm and invention of our academic community.

We are sector leaders in the commercial exploitation of intellectual property (IP) and the establishment of international links for exploitation of IP. Our mission is to deliver world-class research and teaching, educating our students to become future leaders and innovators, and benefiting the wider population through our research, enterprise and influence. According to the 2015 National Student Survey (NSS) our students have an overall satisfaction rate of 90% – four points above the national average. In the subject rankings Chemical Engineering received the maximum possible score of 100% satisfaction for the second year in a row. A further four academic departments achieved 95% or above: Psychology (97%), Biology and Biochemistry,Mechanical Engineering (both 96%) and Chemistry (95%). Our students ranked their Students’ Union among the top 10 Students’ Unions in the country. The Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey 2015 also ranked us as the top university in the UK for student satisfaction. Our students highlighted our excellent academic, sports and social facilities, good community atmosphere, safe campus and strong connections with industry.
